1. Layer upon layer, if you look behind
2. In a paltry life there is a limit to how much one can affect the people in the next country, or the next block, much less change the course of history, so aspire to live carefree
3. Meaningless, meaningless! Everything is meaningless

4. I think, it is only when one accepts one's weaknesses that one can begin to change to achieve full flourishing.

5. He is my all, my joy, my righteousness, my hope of glory when he comes to reign.

6. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.

We dance under the trees, sometimes heavily as though we may fall apart if the silent strings holding us together break, as though we're balancing a load carefully, like an egg on a spoon. Sometimes we whirl in mad abandon, trying to get to the height of dizziness and beyond. Sometimes we tread deliberately, head down, focused on following a path no one else sees.

Time spins on.

What if we run out of time? What if we find, ponderously, that we have no time? Can we survive; can we maintain the beauty in our minds? What if we're too lost in the things we're looking forward to achieving, some unattainable edge of perfection? What if it brings us to the point where there's nothing left in us to run and to dance?
